Currently, Alaska Space is done in the owner/editor's spare time and isn't seen as a money-making source at this time. We can't hire you, but you can contribute.

Do you take submissions?

Yes. Please send a pitch to me. I want to know: about you (educational background, writing/media background, and a little about you), what you want to send to me, and basically an elevator pitch. I'll let you know if I'm interested and then we can discuss it further. I'm open to various types of submissions: writing, photography, video, podcast, etc.

Can you come speak to my group/class/etc?

Yes, as long as I have 72 hours notice so I can schedule it with my day job. If it's in the Fairbanks/North Pole area, I can show up in person. If it's not, then I can do an online meeting.

Would you ever go to space, if you could?

Yes, absolutely!

Does Alaska really have a space industry?

Yes. It was primarily government and institutional focused by the 1940s, but has grown to include other governments and commercial. Commercial space has become a faster growing segment over the last 30 years.

Why include UFOs?
-
I have been fascinated by UFOs for a very long time and was even the MUFON State Director for a few years, though not currently. I even wrote a book called "Saucers of The North: A History of UFOs in Alaskan Airspace" (2022). I think it's important to include UFOs as part of space-related news.

Do you run a space or UFO club that I can join?

I do not. If there were other MUFON members in Fairbanks looking to have regular meetings, I could definitely help run things since I'm currently a research-level member. I don't have any plans on forming any local clubs at this time (July 2025), but things can change if people reach out to me.
